Thinking of rewarding yourself with a relaxing trip to a salon? You might want to try one of the many hair treatments below.
What Are Hair Treatments?
Hair treatments can help you achieve smoother, less frizzy hair. It’s like getting your nails done. If you love to style your hair a lot or if you’re always exposed to sunlight and the humid weather of Singapore, you might want to pamper yourself.
You will need hair treatment for example if you color your hair or if it’s damaged from too much styling. Although it’s not gonna help with falling hair and split ends, it will at least minimize the problems. If you’re still unsure what to do, ask your stylist about it.
There are hair treatments you can do at home, but it’s not advisable to do it if you don’t have any experience yet.
How Do They Work?
Hair treatments are done for specific problems. There are treatments for dry hair, brittle hair and split ends. If you have hair that is difficult to style, some treatments can make it smooth and easier to comb. Others also contain nutrients that strengthen the hair especially if you’re trying to recover from damaged hair. It will reduce breakage, tangles and add luster to your hair.
For example, if you have hair color, hair treatments make the color last longer. There is a tendency for the pigment to gradually wash off every time you shampoo. Treatment using apricot kernel oil and panthenol will help.
What Are the Types of Hair Treatment?
Hot oil treatment for example can help with a dry scalp and reduce dandruff. Hair glaze and hair gloss make your hair shiny.
Permanent hair straightening use a sodium-based formula to break up the keratin in your hair. Then the oxidant will neutralize the keratin to straighten the curls. There are four types of this process; hair rebonding, thermal reconditioning or Japanese straightening, keratin treatment or Brazilian straightening and chemically-straightening technique.
Hair relaxation and rebonding are two methods to straighten hair. Relaxation uses a lye-based chemical to break down the hair’s components. Rebonding uses a perming solution to break down hair bonds and then a flat iron to straighten it.
Keratin treatment is ideal for any type of hair. It is also temporary unlike hair straightening and relaxing. The different types of keratin treatment are Brazilian keratin, ultra smooth keratin, soft keratin without formaldehyde ingredients, and keratin express.
What Should You Remember?
There are things you should pay attention to during a hair treatment session. First, talk to your stylist. If you have done any hair styling or treatment in recent months, you should let him or her know. Three hair treatments in a year should be the maximum.
Remember that hair treatments should not be done if your hair is still wet. Ask about alternatives to formaldehyde. Any type of hair treatment must not remain on the hair for more than twenty minutes. Then use sulfate-free shampoo after the treatment.
